Sidné

“I hand-build in clay, never throwing on a wheel. I hand-build in clay because it feels good both sensually and emotionally. I day dream a piece and if the dream lingers I refine and expand the picture in my head. Then I translate it into clay. I am drawn to the forgiving, generous nature of clay. Some of my inspiration is nature, Latinx culture and good food
“My art tends to be primitive and soulful, embracing an indigenous sensibility. It manifests in a variety of finished product and I am always seeking new perspectives to my line of creativity.
“I love incorporating stark dark clay with light glazing highlights as well as utilizing color for an entirely different experience.”
